I live on Gillette Drive and was pleased to receive and respond to Jim's survey. Since moving here from Houston in 2005, my wife and I have been impressed by the strong faith of those who live around us. I contacted Jim about a special musical evening that I will be hosting at my house in February and he was kind enough to let me post the announcement on this blog so I could open the invitation to some of our neighbors. Jason Deere and Dan Truman will be presenting "Mormon History Through Music" at our house on Sunday February 15th at 6pm. Jason is an accomplished Songwriter in his own right having written songs for LeAnn Rimes, Josh Gracin, SheDaisy, Restless Heart, Neil McCoy, Diamond Rio, and Jessica Simpson. He currently produces a number of up and coming music groups around the globe. Dan Truman is the keyboard player for Diamond Rio. How many of you remember the song Norma Jean Riley which Dan co-wrote back in the early '90's? The music will be an acoustic set in our home for about 30 people or so and will be songs that Jason and Dan have written chronicling the early Mormon Pioneer's trek west in the 1800's. The songs will be about faith, trial and relying on the Lord's help which are timeless principles. Seating is obviously limited but we'd love to squeeze you in if you'd like to come. Just please RSVP by e-mailing me at jbeaird2000@yahoo.com or by calling our home at 599-3808.

Molly Turns FORTY!

Last night friends turned out to surprise Molly and celebrate her 40th birthday over some Mexican food and good fellowship. Coburn Lane was well represented with 6 families in on the surprise. Molly was indeed surprised as the pictures below will show. David did a great job in keeping it all a secret. Those who know Molly truly appreciate her kind and generous spirit. When we brought our son Levi home a year ago she made sure we had everything we needed by allowing us to borrow at bunch of baby stuff (crib, car seat, etc.). A true neighbor! This really was a special night of friendship with no one wanting to leave. River Landing residents need to check out the deer on David and Molly's front lawn that helped usher in the birthday celebration. Please be sure to contact us to get access to this blog for posting your own stories.

All this for me?

The romance is still alive without a doubt.
